Officinaventuno si impegna a garantire elevati standard etici in ogni fase del processo editoriale, conformandosi alle best practices indicate dal Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

In merito ai contenuti trattati nelle proprie pubblicazioni, Officinaventuno adotta una posizione di neutralità.

Officinaventuno is committed to upholding high ethical standards throughout every stage of the editorial process, in accordance with the best practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). With regard to the content addressed in its publications, Officinaventuno maintains a position of neutrality.


1. Autori di libri e capitoli

Gli autori sono tenuti a dichiarare che l’opera proposta è originale e non viola diritti di proprietà intellettuale, né altri diritti di persone fisiche o giuridiche. Devono inoltre assicurarsi che il contenuto non sia diffamatorio, non infranga diritti d’autore o altri diritti di terzi, e che tutte le fonti esterne siano correttamente citate per evitare qualsiasi forma di plagio.

L’attribuzione della paternità deve riflettere in modo accurato il contributo effettivo alla ricerca e alla scrittura. In caso di più autori, l’ordine dei nomi va concordato tra tutti i coautori.

I manoscritti inviati a OFFICINAVENTUNO non devono essere sottoposti contemporaneamente ad altri editori. Se parti del testo coincidono con contenuti già pubblicati o in fase di valutazione altrove, ciò deve essere esplicitamente indicato e citato. Gli autori sono responsabili dell’ottenimento dei permessi per l’uso di materiali di terze parti. Eventuali fonti di finanziamento devono essere chiaramente dichiarate, preferibilmente nella sezione dei ringraziamenti.

Book and Chapter Authors Authors are required to declare that the submitted work is original and does not infringe upon intellectual property rights or any other rights of individuals or entities. They must also ensure that the content is not defamatory, does not violate copyright or other third-party rights, and that all external sources are properly cited to avoid any form of plagiarism. Authorship must accurately reflect the actual contribution to the research and writing. In cases of multiple authors, the order of names should be agreed upon collectively. Manuscripts submitted to Officinaventuno must not be simultaneously under consideration by other publishers. If any sections of the manuscript overlap with previously published or submitted content, this must be clearly acknowledged and cited. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use third-party materials. Any sources of funding must be clearly disclosed, preferably in the acknowledgments section.


2. Direttori di collana e curatori

I direttori di collana sono responsabili della qualità e dell’integrità dei contenuti pubblicati nei volumi da loro supervisionati. Devono operare con equità, trasparenza e rispetto, evitando qualsiasi forma di discriminazione, inclusa quella basata su genere, etnia, orientamento sessuale, convinzioni religiose o politiche.

Sono tenuti a gestire le proposte editoriali con tempestività, a trattare i materiali ricevuti come riservati e a condividerli esclusivamente per la revisione tra pari. Devono fornire agli autori indicazioni chiare sulle aspettative editoriali e prendere decisioni basate sulla qualità e sulla coerenza con la linea editoriale.

I curatori devono fornire linee guida ai nuovi membri del comitato editoriale e aggiornare quelli già attivi su eventuali modifiche alle politiche editoriali. Devono inoltre predisporre sistemi adeguati per la gestione dei conflitti di interesse, propri e altrui.

Chi gestisce il processo di revisione è tenuto a descriverne chiaramente le fasi ai revisori, a giustificare eventuali deviazioni significative dalle procedure standard e a garantire la riservatezza dell’identità dei revisori, salvo l’adozione di un sistema di revisione aperta comunicato preventivamente.

In caso di sospetti di condotta scorretta (incluso il plagio) o contestazioni sulla paternità, i curatori devono attenersi ai diagrammi di flusso COPE.

Series Editors and Curators Series editors are responsible for the quality and integrity of the content published in the volumes they oversee. They must act with fairness, transparency, and respect, avoiding any form of discrimination, including that based on gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or political views. They are expected to manage editorial proposals promptly, treat submitted materials as confidential, and share them exclusively for peer review purposes. Editors must provide authors with clear guidance on editorial expectations and make decisions based on the quality and alignment of the work with the editorial line. Curators must provide guidelines to new editorial board members and keep existing members informed of any updates to editorial policies. They are also responsible for implementing appropriate systems to manage conflicts of interest, both their own and those of other board members. Those overseeing the review process must clearly describe its stages to reviewers, justify any significant deviations from standard procedures, and ensure the confidentiality of reviewer identities—unless an open review system is used and communicated in advance to both authors and reviewers. In cases of suspected misconduct (including plagiarism) or disputes over authorship, curators must follow COPE flowcharts.


3. Referee

I revisori devono comunicare tempestivamente all’editore, ai direttori di collana e ai curatori eventuali conflitti di interesse, reali o potenziali, che possano compromettere l’imparzialità della valutazione, e astenersi dalla revisione se necessario.

Devono operare con equità, obiettività e rispetto dei tempi, contribuendo al miglioramento del manoscritto attraverso una valutazione attenta e costruttiva. È loro responsabilità segnalare eventuali somiglianze con contenuti già pubblicati o sospetti di plagio, e mantenere la riservatezza su tutto il materiale ricevuto.

Referees Referees must promptly inform the publisher, series editors, and curators of any actual or potential conflicts of interest that could compromise the impartiality of their review, and must decline to review when appropriate. They are expected to act fairly, objectively, and within the agreed timeframe, contributing to the improvement of the manuscript through careful and constructive evaluation. Referees are responsible for reporting any similarities with previously published content or suspected plagiarism, and for maintaining confidentiality regarding all materials received during the review process.


4. Politica di reclamo

I reclami vengono gestiti caso per caso. Gli autori che intendano presentare un reclamo, sia di natura legale che generale, a seguito di un rifiuto, possono rivolgersi al curatore del volume o della collana. I reclami generici possono essere indirizzati direttamente all’editore, scrivendo all’indirizzo email: info@officinaventuno.com.

In caso di segnalazioni relative a violazioni di copyright, diritti di proprietà intellettuale, contenuti diffamatori o altri materiali illeciti, OFFICINAVENTUNO avvierà un’indagine interna. Tale procedura può includere la richiesta di documentazione alle parti coinvolte. OFFICINAVENTUNO valuterà in buona fede se procedere al ritiro dell’opera o adottare altre misure appropriate.

Tutte le fasi dell’indagine e le decisioni assunte saranno documentate.

Complaints Policy Complaints are handled on a case-by-case basis. Authors wishing to submit a legal or general complaint following a rejection may contact the curator of the volume or series. General complaints may be addressed directly to the publisher by writing to: info@officinaventuno.com. In the event of reports concerning copyright infringement, violation of intellectual property rights, defamatory content, or other unlawful material, Officinaventuno will initiate an internal investigation. This process may include requesting documentation from the parties involved. Officinaventuno will act in good faith to determine whether to retract the work or take other appropriate measures. All stages of the investigation and the decisions made will be documented.
